Job summary

Stop & Shop Continental Grocery and Convenience Store in Winkler, MB is seeking a self-motivated Cashier with strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible in a permanent, full-time position offering a schedule that includes Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Early Morning and Morning shifts.

The role requires basic cash handling, processing money, cheques and card payments, scanning items, and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be flexible.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register.
• Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.
• Scan items and calculate total payments.
• Accept reservations or take-out orders.
• Assist theatre patrons in selecting seats.
• Attend to hotel safety deposit boxes.
• Wrap or bag merchandise.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Help customers with self-service checkout.
• Monitor entrances/exits and verify proof of payment as needed.
• Participate in promotional activities.
• Verify age for lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
