Job summary

Permanent, full-time (30-40 hours per week),$16.50 per hour. Standard 6-8-hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 10am and 10pm as required.

Duties:

• Welcome customers and provide courteous service.
• Scan and enter merchandise using the point-of-sale system.
• Confirm product prices and calculate the total amount owing.
• Weigh fresh produce and bulk food items.
• Accept and process payments by cash, debit card, credit card, and other approved payment methods.
• Pack customers’ purchases into bags or suitable containers.
• Answer customer questions and provide information about products, prices, and store services.
• Balance the cash register at the end of the shift and reconcile payments against recorded sales.
• Replenish merchandise around the checkout area.
• Keep the checkout counter and surrounding work area clean and organized.

Requirements:

• Secondary school completion required;
• A minimum of one year of cashier experience is required;
• Chinese language ability is an asset;
• English language ability is required.
