Job summary
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in Winnipeg is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pan Am Surgery - Operating Room to provide professional nursing services for patients, including those with complex needs. This role includes independent nursing actions, administration of prescribed treatments, and leadership within the care team.
Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of current clinical nursing experience; OR experience in orthopedics and plastics is preferred.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
- CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification preferred.
- Successful completion of the AORN Periop 101 online course or equivalent OR training/experience is preferred.
- Applicants without previous OR training/experience must complete AORN Periop 101 within three months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex health needs.
- Deliver independent nursing services and administer prescribed medical treatments.
- Assume a leadership role within the healthcare team and coordinate patient care and discharge.
