Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse, Transition Line (Specialty Nursing) for the Surrey Memorial Hospital perinatal unit. The role focuses on direct patient care during intra-, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum periods within the Maternal - Infant - Child & Youth (MICY) program.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in a collaborative inter-professional team, support families, and participate in education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current practicing registration with BCCNM.
• One year perinatal nursing experience or equivalent.
• Current Basic Rescuer (Level C) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certificates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients and unborn babies.
• Collaborate with families and inter-professional care team to develop and modify care plans.
• Coordinate nursing care and referrals per established protocols.
• Teach patients and families about health promotion, pregnancy, birth, and newborn care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes per Fraser Health procedures.
• Support discharge planning and care coordination with the team.
