Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Relief Full Time Registered Nurse, Perinatal to join the Maternal - Infant - Child & Youth (MICY) team at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC. The role provides direct patient care across intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods.

Your responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning with the inter‑professional team, patient education, and active participation in discharge planning and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with BCCNM.
• One year of recent, related clinical perinatal nursing experience in the designated clinical area.
• Current Basic Rescuer (Level C) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certificates.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments of patient and unborn baby on admission and at intervals.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and care team on the care plan.
• Leads discharge planning and updates the care plan.
• Coordinates nursing care and makes referrals per protocols and standards.
• Teaches patients and families about health promotion during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and newborn care.
• Documents assessments, diagnoses, interventions and outcomes accurately.
