Job summary

Kitimat General Hospital is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the team in a perinatal/medical‑surgical role. You will deliver compassionate patient care, collaborate with the inter‑professional team, and support obstetrical, neonatal and medical‑surgical patients.

The position emphasizes family‑centered care and requires BC RN registration, perinatal specialty training, and current NRP/Fetal Health Surveillance certificates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• One year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Completion of a recognized Perinatal Nursing specialty program.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate.
• Current Fetal Health Surveillance Course certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide direct patient care to obstetrical, in‑patent maternal, fetal and newborn patients.
• Collaborate with the inter‑professional team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Utilize nursing theory, evidence and clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Apply safe, evidence‑informed nursing practices and document care in the patient chart.
