We are looking for a skilled and curious Legal Subject Matter Expert to join our Legal Expertise team, a specialized group within our AI division. You will be central to the development of Alexi's legal AI products, working closely with the legal and engineering teams to ensure the legal accuracy, quality, and utility of our offerings. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to shaping the future of legal technology and, as a consequence, the legal profession. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of lawyers and engineers to build new and improved AI tools for legal professionals Test new product releases and features for functionality and usability Evaluate AI-generated outputs for legal accuracy, relevance, and quality Build, curate, and update legal datasets to support product development and AI training Analyze and resolve issues raised through customer feedback to improve product performance and user satisfaction Conduct legal research and write high-quality legal research memos from various jurisdictions and practice areas Proactively develop and continually learn new technical skills regarding in-house, commercial computing, and AI technologies Take on additional projects and tasks as needed in response to the evolving needs of a fast-growing startup Licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction and one Canadian jurisdiction ~ 2+ years of experience in traditional legal practice (private practice, in-house, or government) ~ Demonstrated ability to think about law in a conceptual way and to abstract legal reasoning into logical and repeatable steps ~ Excellent communication skills, especially in conveying legal concepts to non-lawyers ~ Technologically curious with an aptitude for learning new tools, software, skills, and workflows ~ Resourceful in approaching new challenges and finding creative solutions ~ Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to legal accuracy ~ Outstanding legal analysis, legal research, and writing skills We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
