Qualifications

  • Registered 2nd or 3rd Year Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice.
  • Commitment to completing the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) apprenticeship program.
  • Experience with basic mechanical systems including chains, belts, sprockets, bearings, alignment, installation, and tensioning.
  • Experience using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics under the direction of licensed tradespeople.
  • Participate in equipment installations, modifications, and changeovers.
  • Work with mechanical systems including chains, belts, sprockets, bearings, alignment, installation, and tensioning.
  • Own and coordinate the plant lubrication program in partnership with Line Mechanics, ensuring lubrication schedules, inspections, documentation, and best practices are consistently followed.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
  • Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance best practices.
  • Adhere to all PepsiCo safety, food safety, quality, and GMP requirements.

PepsiCo Beverages Apprentice Millwright

Job Locations: CA-BC-Delta

The Maintenance Millwright Apprentice is responsible for supporting the maintenance team in maintaining and repairing plant equipment and mechanical systems within the Pepsi bottling and processing facility. Under the guidance of licensed tradespeople and experienced technicians, this role involves inspecting equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with repairs and installations in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

The successful candidate will support day-to-day maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment changeovers, and installations on advanced manufacturing and production equipment. Responsibilities also include assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, learning diagnostic techniques, and developing the skills required to become a fully certified Industrial Mechanic (Millwright).

Wage: $54.60/hr

*Please note hourly wage is determined by successful completion of each year of your apprentice training based on current journeyman rates.

  • Exposure to machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders is considered an asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to PLCs, sensors, drives/VFDs, and industrial automation systems is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SAP CMMS.
  • Previous experience performing preventive maintenance on production lines and industrial equipment is considered an asset.
  • Must be willing to obtain a Power Engineer certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work shifts and overtime as required.
