BrightIron is excited to grow the People Practice, and we are looking for a talented and budding HR professional to work with our People Practice Leader. This person will help build the practice and work with several startups to develop their HR foundation and serve their HR needs.

This role is ideal for someone with some HR experience who loves startups but isn’t ready to be the sole HR person yet.
The Opportunity :
- Partner with the People Practice Leader to develop and execute HR operational processes and services, focusing on employee lifecycle, data, and integrity.
- Support employees, leaders, and teams on policy, programs, processes, legislation, and problem-solving to provide effective solutions.
- Become a technology super-user, identifying ways to optimize and automate processes while ensuring data accuracy.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HR programs and initiatives based on client needs.
- Participate in planning and executing team events and initiatives to foster a culture of celebration and belonging.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team on payroll data, processes, and information flow.
- Contribute to knowledge articles shared with clients and the public.
What We Are Looking For :
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business or human resources.
- 4-6 years of HR experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in tech.
- Experience supporting scaling organizations through rapid growth.
- Experience with student and full-time recruitment and university relations.
- Experience developing onboarding and offboarding programs.
- Understanding of compliance issues in Ontario, Canada, and employee handbook development.
- Technologically proficient with ability to learn new software and platforms quickly.
- Experience with HR systems like BambooHR, Rippling, Hi Bob, or similar.
- Experience administering benefits, supporting open enrollment, and assisting employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and discreetly.
- Experience managing performance and employee relations issues.
- A positive attitude and a passion for learning and growth.
