About You:

  • You consider yourself a go-getter, self-driven, and customer focused. You have enough experience that you can work independently but you’re also seeking support, mentorship, and guidance from a seasoned HR leader.
  • Your experience and expertise in a growing, fast-paced HR environment make you the greatest partner in providing a seamless employee experience.
  • You have a people-first mindset and are focused on creating positive employee experiences and an inclusive culture.
  • You are project and program delivery driven and have excellent planning and time management skills.
  • You are a strong and clear communicator who knows how to keep the appropriate stakeholders informed.
  • You are a natural relationship builder and have the ability to build trust.

This is the perfect role for someone who has some experience and loves startups but isn’t ready to be the sole HR person!

The Opportunity:

  • Partner closely with the People Practice Leader to develop and execute HR operational processes and services with a focus on employee life cycle, data, and integrity.
  • Support employees, leaders, and teams on issues related to policy, programs, processes and legislation, and problem-solving to provide effective solutions.
  • Become a technology super-user, identifying ways we can get the most from our tools and shift towards further automating our processes while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of various HR programs and initiatives based on client needs.
  • Play a role in the planning and execution of team events and initiatives, fostering a culture of celebration and belonging.
  • Partner with our Finance Team on payroll information, processes and information flow related to clients.
  • Contribute to knowledge articles which are shared with clients and the public.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree or college diploma with a focus in business or human resources
  • 4-6 years of experience working in HR in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in tech
  • You have experience working in a scaling organizational environment supporting the business and people through rapid growth.
  • Experience with student and full-time recruitment and university relations.
  • Experience developing new hire onboarding and offboarding programs.
  • A solid understanding of compliance within Canada, primarily Ontario, and development of employee handbooks.
  • Technologically proficient with an ability to learn new software and platforms with ease.
  • Experience with BambooHR, Rippling, Hi Bob and/or other similar HR systems.
  • Experience administering benefits, supporting open enrollment, and assisting employees with questions and resources.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and a high degree of discretion.
  • Experience navigating performance and employee relations issues.
  • A positive attitude and a passion to learn and grow.
