Job summary

Lantern is seeking a People & Culture Specialist to optimize our HR technology ecosystem across Canada and the United States, partnering with leaders to support employees through every stage of the lifecycle.

You will lead HiBob administration, drive process improvements with AI, coordinate benefits, onboarding, and culture initiatives, and ensure a positive employee experience in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of Product Management experience in Agile environments, delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Proficient with requirements gathering, including workshops and user research.
  • Competent in Product Design Thinking for custom software development.
  • Competent with QA testing methodologies.
  • Strong communication with team members, stakeholders and executives.
  • Mastery of Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HiBob administrator and SME.
  • Manage employee records, workflows, permissions, forms, reporting, and system configurations.
  • Coordinate benefits administration across US and Canada.
  • Support onboarding and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Drive AI and automation initiatives to optimize HR processes.

People & Culture Specialist

We are seeking a People & Culture Specialist who is passionate about creating seamless employee experiences across Canada and the United States. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys the operational side of People & Culture while leveraging technology, process improvement, and AI-driven innovation to make work better for everyone.

As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will own and optimize our HR technology ecosystem, ensuring our people data, systems, and programs are efficient, scalable, and employee-centric. You will partner closely with the Chief People Officer, HR Business Partner, Finance, IT, and business leaders to support employees throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle.

A Product Owner with endeavors to be a trusted technology and business advocate. They support our clients in their journey to implement technological solutions. This role will provide insights and direction to Lantern’s clients, utilizing the best practices when gathering business and technical requirements. Their core skills are an example to more junior members, and they are a major contributor to the delivery and quality assurance for the project scope of work. They are capable of leading multiple engagements, providing consulting to clients, and mentorship to team members. A Product Owner is expected to have ample professional consulting experience, preferably in a custom software development or modern work consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Technology & People Operations

  • Act as the primary HiBob administrator and subject matter expert.
  • Manage employee records, workflows, permissions, forms, reporting, and system configurations.
  • Perform regular audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Improve processes and drive adoption of HR technologies.
  • Support ADP payroll processes and collaborate with Finance on payroll activities.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and insights to inform people and business decisions.

Process Improvement, Automation & AI

  • Evaluate and implement new ways of working using AI and automation tools.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks and improve employee self-service.
  • Partner with the People & Culture team to redesign and modernize HR processes.
  • Stay current on emerging HR technology trends and recommend improvements.
  • Help establish best practices for responsible and effective use of AI within People & Culture.

Benefits & Employee Programs

  • Coordinate benefits administration across the United States and Canada.
  • Support annual benefits renewals and employee enrollment activities.
  • Administer RRSP and 401(k) programs in partnership with vendors and Finance.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, and HR programs.
  • Support leave administration and employee lifecycle processes.

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new hires.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Assist in executing culture-building initiatives that strengthen employee connection and belonging.
  • Manage People & Culture communications through Lighthouse, SharePoint, and other internal channels.
  • Partner with leaders to ensure employees have a positive and consistent experience throughout their career at Lantern.

EdmontonOfficeSupport

  • Serve as the local People & Culture representative for the Edmonton office.
  • Coordinate office-based employee experience initiatives and events.
  • Partner with local leaders to support team engagement and workplace needs.
  • Provide in-person support for onboarding, meetings, and employee programs as required.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain employee documentation and HR records.
  • Support employment changes, promotions, compensation updates, and offboarding activities.
  • Assist with policy administration and compliance activities across Canada and the United States.
  • Prepare HR documents, reports, and communications.
  • Participate in annual People & Culture programs, including performance reviews, engagement surveys, and talent initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 6-8 years of Product Management experience in Agile environments, with a proven track record of delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Proficient with requirements gathering including conducting workshops, user research, product roadmap planning, and more.
  • Competent in Product Design Thinking in relation to custom software development.
  • Competent with quality assurance testing methodologies
  • Proficient in effective communication, both written and verbal, with team members, end users, stakeholders, project sponsors, client executives and more.
  • Mastery of Agile delivery methodologies.
