Job description

The Company

At Push Operations, we’re all about simplifying workforce management for the hospitality industry, from restaurants and coffee shops to pubs and breweries. Our tools, like automated payroll, streamlined hiring & scheduling, real-time BI dashboards, and AI-powered insights, help businesses run smarter and serve customers better. We’re a spirited and collaborative team with a presence across North America and an office in Vancouver, BC, and we believe real impact comes when talented people can work flexibly, from anywhere.

The Team

We’re a group of dog-loving and game-playing people who place a high priority on competence and efficiency, but an even higher stock of personable and positive individuals that mesh with our culture and are willing to grow with us. As part of our rapidly growing team, you will play an important and unique role in working towards our mission to create the best people management system for our customers so they can spend more time doing what they love.

The Role

We’re a 150-person remote-first company operating across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a People & Culture Manager who can strengthen manager capability, drive accountability, and build scalable people systems.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role — equally comfortable coaching managers through complex employee situations, leading employee relations, running core people operations, and facilitating live training sessions that improve leadership capability across the company. You’ll partner closely with leadership and oversee employee relations, performance management, manager enablement, and people operations alongside our HR Coordinator.

Location

We’re embracing new ways of working and continually evolving how we collaborate to ensure everyone feels connected and supported. For this role, we prefer candidates who can spend regular time in our downtown Vancouver office to help build team culture and drive collaboration. That said, if you’re based elsewhere in Canada and feel strongly aligned, we’d still love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Manager Support
  • Advise and coach managers on performance, feedback, and difficult conversations
  • Lead investigations and resolve employee relations matters
  • Guide performance improvement plans and terminations
  • Ensure compliance across Canada, US, and Mexico
Manager Development & Training
  • Design, host, and facilitate manager training sessions (virtual) on performance management, accountability, coaching, and feedback
  • Build and maintain a structured manager onboarding program for newly promoted leaders
  • Lead quarterly manager forums to align expectations and share best practices
  • Reinforce consistent management standards across all teams
Performance & Manager Effectiveness
  • Strengthen our performance management framework
  • Support goal-setting, performance check-ins, and accountability processes
  • Define what "great management" looks like at our company
  • Partner with leadership to improve manager outcomes and team performance
People Operations Oversight
  • Partner with HR Coordinator on payroll, benefits, compliance, and documentation
  • Improve and streamline HR processes and policies
  • Support compensation cycles, promotions, and role changes
  • Ensure employment practices align with local regulations
Strategic Initiatives
  • Partner with leadership on org design, workforce planning, and succession
  • Support engagement initiatives and culture-building
  • Contribute to the overall People strategy and roadmap
