Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Coordinator, People & Culture to support recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, benefits and workplace programs. You will work closely with leadership to enable a positive employee experience and help implement people-first initiatives.

The role requires 2+ years in HR, post-secondary HR education, and comfort with evolving priorities in a fast-paced team. BC employment standards knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a People & Culture or HR role, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Post-secondary education in HR or related discipline; CPHR designation is a plus.
  • Experience with learning & development, benefits and wellness programs.
  • Knowledge of BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC and BC Human Rights legislation.
  • Strong communication, organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruitment, postings, screening, interviews and candidate communication.
  • Coordinate onboarding and ensure a positive new employee experience.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and workplace wellness programs.
  • Coordinate learning and development activities and employee events.
  • Support benefits administration and respond to inquiries; maintain HR records.

About The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an HR professional with 2+ years of experience who enjoys working on a broad HR portfolio and being involved in a variety of People & Culture initiatives. Working closely with the People & Culture leadership team, you will support day-to-day HR programs and administration while building strong relationships across the organization. This role would suit someone who is proactive, organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve.

About The Position
  • Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks and candidate communication.
  • Coordinate onboarding and help ensure a positive new employee experience.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness and culture initiatives.
  • Coordinate learning and development activities, training sessions and employee events.
  • Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Support workplace health and safety programs and related administration.
  • Prepare employee correspondence and maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
  • Maintain employee information and documentation within the HRIS.
  • Assist with the communication and administration of HR policies and programs.
  • Provide responsive and confidential support to employees and leaders across the organization.
The Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a People & Culture or HR Assistant or Coordinator role.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working towards a CPHR designation is preferred.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Exposure to learning and development, benefits and wellness programs.
  • Working knowledge of BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC and BC Human Rights legislation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working with changing priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Comfortable using AI-enabled tools and technology relevant to Human Resources.
Compensation
  • Annual salary range $60,000 – $70,000, depending on experience, job-related knowledge and internal and market equity
