Job summary

The Ontario Pension Board (OPB) is seeking a Pension Specialist, Client Services in Toronto on a permanent full-time basis or up to an 18-month contract. You will deliver professional client service, assess eligibility, and explain options and benefits under the PSPP.

You will handle varied transactions, ensure compliance, and contribute to process improvements within a collaborative team. Reporting to a Client Service Manager, you’ll develop lifecycle pension knowledge, maintain up-to-date

Qualifications

• Experience in pension administration and handling client transactions.
• Ability to communicate complex pension information clearly to clients.
• Familiarity with federal tax legislation and Pension Benefits Act.
• Sound judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client transactions with accuracy.
• Commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional client service via multiple channels and determine eligibility, options and benefits.
• Process complex transactions while following legislation, OPB policies and procedures.
• Help clients understand entitlements and make informed decisions under Plan provisions.
• Support internal process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Share information with colleagues and contribute to continuous enhancements.
• Apply judgement to identify advisory referrals and mitigate risk.
• Participate in peer training and knowledge transfer to ensure consistency.
• Contribute lifecycle expertise to projects, testing, and post-deployment support.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation, policy, or procedures to ensure accuracy.
