Job Description
Accountabilities:
  • Clientele Relations: Monitors activities of clients/residents, provides support, ensures acclimatization, attends meetings, assists with intake procedures, supports counselors, facilitates group work, administers medications, reports concerns, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Direct Client Contact: Provides orientation, ensures regular check-ins, documents interactions, and is available for unscheduled meetings.
  • Administrative & Interdepartmental Co-operation: Maintains respectful relationships, complies with policies, collaborates with staff and volunteers, and participates in seasonal activities.
  • Other Duties: Performs additional tasks as required.
Critical Relationship Management

Internal: Treatment counselors and management; External: N/A.

Leadership Responsibility

Reports to: Treatment Assistant Manager – Women’s. No direct reports but may supervise volunteers or students.

Financial & Materials Management

Handles minor financial matters, responsible for resource use, with limited input into budgeting.

Working Conditions

Residential setting, various shifts, primarily in Vancouver’s DTES, with safety precautions and potential exposure to risks.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent; further education preferred.
  • PeerConnectBC certification or willingness to train.
  • Criminal Record Review clearance.
  • Current or willing to obtain First Aid/CPR, NVCI, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone.
  • Immunization and COVID vaccination proof.
Experience & Skills
  • At least 1 year working with women/female clients in social services.
  • Stability in personal recovery from substance use.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, computer skills, recovery knowledge, and cultural competence.
Compensation

Range: $26.83 to $27.58, based on experience and qualifications. Accommodation available upon request.
