Health Match BC in Kelowna is seeking a pediatrician to provide general acute pediatric care, neonatal services, and coordination of regional patient management at Kelowna General Hospital. The position supports teaching medical students and residents through the UBC Southern Medical Program.
The role involves collaboration with BC Children's Hospital for highly specialized services, with a focus on tertiary care pathways and resident mentorship within a busy tertiary hospital setting.

You’ll be part of our talented and cohesive team, providing general acute pediatric care, neonatal and consultant pediatric services to patients and their families at KGH. As a tertiary referral hospital, KGH pediatricians also manage and coordinate care for more complex regional cases, working closely with BC Children's Hospital when highly specialized services are required.
Our state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) houses 12 beds and supports babies born after 30 weeks of gestation. We have a 10-bed pediatric unit with an adjacent pediatric urgent care clinic. We also have outpatient clinic space, which is used for outreach clinics from various sub-specialist groups from BC Children's Hospital.
In association with UBC’s Southern Medical Program, you’ll have opportunities to teach medical students, family practice residents, and senior pediatric residents. Academic work takes place in both the Clinical Teaching Unit and NICU, averaging one week per month.
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH), one of BC’s leading healthcare centres, is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health. We offer a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 emergency department visits a year.
Home to the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC), KGH houses BC’s only cardiac critical care centre outside of Victoria and the Lower Mainland, as well as its principal surgical site. The IHSC features 12 specialized operating rooms designed for thoracic, urology, neurosurgery, vascular, plastic, obstetric/gynecologic, ear, nose, and throat, orthopedic, general, and trauma surgeries. Of these, two operating rooms are dedicated to cardiac surgery. Within the IHSC, KGH also has a modern maternity ward and an adjacent neonatal intensive care unit.
Our state-of-the-art Centennial Building boasts 360,000 square feet and includes an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, new medical inpatient units, modern operating rooms, and a rooftop helipad. Additional facilities include a dedicated pediatric ward, as well as adolescent and adult psychiatry units. The Dr. Walter Anderson Building houses enhanced laboratory and clinical departments, supporting advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
KGH is also a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program, affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC), and has an academic campus that serves as a satellite for the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
Compensation Type Clinical Service Contract Estimated Remuneration 229.21/hr, compensated through an APP service contract, plus After-Hours Premiums and MOCAP Level 1.
Relocation Funding Available $9,000 for moves within BC, 12,000 for moves within Canada, and 15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada, subject to maximum amounts and eligible receipts.
