Job summary

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a Pediatrician locum in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Responsibilities include 24-hour inpatient coverage and emergency on-call coverage at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

The pediatric team works with multidisciplinary supports and local programs to provide integrated, family-centred care. Accommodation provided, travel time stipend, and air travel reimbursement are included where applicable.

Qualifications

• Certified or eligible to be certified with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics.
• Regular or provisional licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (or eligible to be licensed).
• Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour inpatient coverage at Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
• Provide emergency on-call coverage as part of the SHA Pediatric team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary supports to deliver family-centred care.

Job description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking Pediatrician locumcoverage in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Responsibilities include 24 hour inpatient coverage and emergency on-call coverage at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.As the only regional hospital in the southeast, Yorkton offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity allowing physicians to manage a broad range of cases while enjoying the benefits of a smaller community and avoiding the congestion of a large urban centre.

The pediatric team works alongside a multidisciplinary network of supports, including pediatric therapies, autism spectrum disorder services, early childhood psychology, mental health, social work, dental services, and public health nursing. Strong partnerships with community programs such as KidsFirst and local schools provide truly integrated, family-centred care.

Remuneration & Support

• Daily Rate: $2,276.68 per 24-hour period
• Emergency Call: Specialist Emergency Coverage Program (SECP) stipend paid in addition to the daily rate, in accordance with program terms
• Accommodation: Provided, if required
• Travel Time: $20/hour (one return trip per locum assignment)
• Air Travel: Reimbursement available where applicable
