Job summary

Kitimat Community Development Centre is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to work with children and youth from birth to 19 years in a community-based, multidisciplinary setting in Kitimat, BC.

You will provide assessments, develop treatment plans, deliver therapy in clinic, home, school, and other community settings, and collaborate with families and educators to support participation and communication for diverse communities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech & language assessments for children and youth (0–19).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support participation, independence, and development.
  • Provide therapy services in clinic, home, school, and community settings.
  • Coach and support families with practical strategies to enhance daily routines and participation.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case planning and program development.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and outcome measurement.
  • Uphold professional standards and evidence-based, inclusive, trauma-informed practices.
