Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist in Public Health to deliver services to young children in community-based settings. You will assess, diagnose and treat communication delays and feeding difficulties, developing individual and group programs while providing education to families and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech language pathology services to children in community-based settings such as public health units.
  • Identify, assess, diagnose and treat communication delays and disorders and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individual and group treatment programs for assigned caseload.
  • Offer consultation and education to clients, families, caregivers, staff and community.
  • Support transition of clients between acute care and community-based health services.
