Job summary

CHEO in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a dynamic MRI Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team. The role involves pediatric imaging across neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiac studies, with collaboration among radiologists and anesthesia staff.

Applicants must have MR post-diploma, MRI certification, CMRITO registration, and BCLS, with strong safety and documentation practices. The position requires on-call flexibility and participation in teaching student technologists, with bilingual

Qualifications

• Post diploma in MR or recognized equivalent with MRI Certification or completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care in neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiac imaging.
• Liaise with radiologists, sedation area staff, technologists and anaesthesia for anaesthetic patients.
• Perform scans on neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiac cases.
• Ensure magnet safety for patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate computer and image records with patient data.
• Troubleshoot imaging and ancillary equipment for efficiency.
• Stay updated on Medical Imaging trends and developments.
• Participate in shift rotations and on-call coverage.
• May teach student technologists.
• Other duties as required.
