Job description

Hours for this part-time position are 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday 11 am - 3 pm

Position Summary:

The Teller serves as a frontline representative of the credit union, playing a vital role in delivering exceptional financial services and fostering strong member relationships. This position blends service excellence, operational accuracy, and sales support to ensure a positive experience for every member.

Key Responsibilities:
Member Engagement
  • Champion a member-first culture by delivering friendly, professional, and personalized service.
  • Respond to member inquiries and concerns both in person and by phone, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Engage members in meaningful conversations to understand their financial needs and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Refer members to appropriate team members or services when specialized support is needed.
Sales Excellence
  • Collaborate with branch colleagues to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell credit union products and services that align with member needs.
  • Utilize RSS tools to support member service and facilitate referrals.
Member Accounts & Branch Operations
  • Accurately and efficiently process a wide range of teller transactions and account maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all transactional policies and procedures.
  • Participate in branch opening and closing routines, maintaining security and operational readiness.
  • Support smooth daily operations and uphold branch standards during business hours.
Organizational Engagement
  • Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Support leadership initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer.
  • Take initiative to perform other essential functions as needed to support the team.
  • Be available to work Saturdays as part of the branch schedule.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience with strong focus on providing exceptional service to customers and members.
Certifications
  • None
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively interact with members and team members.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, prioritization skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using banking software, computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and committed to maintaining accurate records and transactions.
  • Ability to uphold the credit union’s values and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Professional appearance required.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a member-centric culture with strong emphasis on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to participate branch activities and community events for branch awareness.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
