Job summary

Peacock, a cozy wine bar in Halifax, is seeking a Bartender with strong knowledge of cocktails, wine and beer. You will craft signature drinks, provide recommendations, and ensure memorable guest experiences with energy and personality.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, attention to detail, and collaboration with a vibrant team in a lively dining environment at Peacock in Queen’s Marque.

Qualifications

  • Valid Serve Right Certification.
  • Moderate wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge.
  • Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent observation skills and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive guest experience by engaging guests and following the steps of service.
  • Provide beverage recommendations based on preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Promptly take drink orders and prepare beverages.
  • Communicate beverage descriptions and information to guests and team members.
  • Stock and maintain all bar products and mise en place.
  • Monitor beer keg and liquor levels and manage inventory.
  • Assist with inventory ordering and related tasks as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job Description

We are looking for a Bartender at Peacock with an in-depth knowledge of delicious classic cocktails, desire to craft signature drinks, decent wine knowledge and a flair for creating memorable guests’ experiences, bringing energy and personality to every interaction.

What you will be doing as a Bartender:
  • Creating a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service;
  • Providing guest with food & beverage suggestions, while taking in consideration preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions;
  • Promptly receive drink order chits and prepare beverages;
  • Communicating beverage descriptions, special and information to guests and team members;
  • Stocking and maintaining all bar products including mise en place;
  • Checking and maintaining beer keg and liquor levels;
  • Counting and taking inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory ordering;
  • Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.
The person we are looking for has:
  • A valid Serve Right Certification;
  • Moderate wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge;
  • Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service;
  • Excellent observation skills & high attention to detail, offering a helping hand to all guests whenever needed, before they even need to ask;
