We are seeking an experienced PCB/PCBA Manufacturing Consultant to join our team, strengthen our service portfolio with design and manufacturing expertise, and aid in promotion of our services to a previously untapped market of new clients in need of technical guidance on their journey from concept to physical realization.

As an experienced PCB/PCBA Manufacturing Consultant, you will provide expert guidance to our new and prospective clients, as well as internal account management and quotation staff. You will be responsible for optimizing printed circuit boards (PCBs) and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for manufacturability, reliability and cost. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on predictable time and cost commitments.

You will also actively develop our client base by promoting our expertise through our portal, articles and other industry communications, thereby attracting incremental manufacturing revenues.

This position is under Sales Department, reporting to Director of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review PCB and PCBA designs for Manufacturability for a wide variety of electronic products.
  • Provide technical expertise and consulting services to our client counterparts in real time.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Optimize PCB layouts for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support Sales in quotation process including Gerber file review and guidance on complex designs.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the prototyping and production phases.
  • Support Marketing initiatives, including reviewing, editing and writing technical articles for company website.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB/PCBA design and development or in-depth experience as PCB fabrication process engineer in top PCB manufacturing facilities.
  • Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with quick turnaround, turn-key solutions in an EMS environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g., IPC standards).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with high-speed digital and RF PCB design.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.
  • Previous consulting experience in the EMS industry.
  • Experience with HDI board design.
  • Technical article writing experience is an asset.
