Job Title: Payroll Team Lead

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Lead to oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including system integrations. The role involves maintaining confidentiality, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will lead payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions, perform audits, and drive technology-driven improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for payroll processing, including system integrations.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee relations and organizational changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members and business units.
  • Perform and oversee audits between HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Provide backup for key tasks within the team.
  • Lead payroll operations for Canada and USA, ensuring accurate processing, tax setups, and compliance.
  • Process payroll for multiple groups and business units.
  • Lead year-end government filings and payroll audits.
  • Ensure timely handling of remittances, deductions, and dues.
  • Stay updated on payroll trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with accounting functions supporting the general ledger and reconciliations.
  • Provide documentation and reports for audit requests.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll transaction reporting and reconciliation.
  • Drive improvements and automation tools to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee payroll integrations with HR, Finance, and IT systems.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of full-cycle payroll experience
  • 2+ years in a payroll supervisory role
  • Experience processing payroll for 1800 employees
  • Proficiency in ADP Payroll and Workforce Now
  • Knowledge of Oracle systems
  • Expertise in payroll tax, T4, and U.S. payroll
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • PCP certification and reconciliation experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with benefits administration
  • Understanding of year-end government filings
  • Ability to drive technology-driven improvements and automation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Vaughan,ON.
