Job summary

CGT is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join the Human Resources team in Cambridge. You will manage the full payroll cycle for about 380 employees, including weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried payroll, while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will handle timekeeping, remittances, year-end reporting, and payroll inquiries, working closely with the Operations team in a manufacturing setting. A post-secondary payroll-focused credential and 5+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive payroll experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Experience with union payroll and applying collective agreement provisions.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and year-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for hourly employees and semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees for ~380 staff.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely processing per deadlines.
• Handle timekeeping corrections, overtime, deductions, and benefits.
• Prepare and balance payroll reports and year-end T4s and reconciliations.
• Address employee inquiries and support payroll audits and CRA inquiries.
