Job summary

Arnold Bros. Transport Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll department for employees across North America.

You will manage end-to-end payroll for salaried, hourly staff, drivers, and owner-operator settlements, with a focus on compliance and process improvements. The role requires 5 years of payroll experience including supervisory duties, strong knowledge of ADP, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP payroll software.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Leader for the Payroll Department by building effective relationships with employees, identifying opportunities for development and providing continuous guidance and feedback to direct reports.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all groups, including salaried and hourly staff, professional drivers, and Owner Operator settlements, as well identify opportunities to automate or streamline existing processes while maintaining compliance controls.
  • Maintain and optimize ADP configuration, including earnings/deduction codes, GL mapping, tax setup, and integrations with other systems.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the federal labour law, tax law, and CRA payroll guidelines, as well submit statutory filings such as T4’s, ROEs, and remittances accurately and on schedule.

The Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of payroll for all employees and leading our payroll team. The Payroll Manager blends deep process ownership with strong people leadership, someone who brings consistency to complex, multi-pay-group operations while leading a team of subject matter experts.

  • 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation, Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation would be preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing.
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP payroll software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to customer service and employee development.
