The City of Cambridge is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our HR payroll team. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources – Payroll & Benefits, you will process and balance weekly and biweekly payrolls, verify time and attendance, and ensure timely payments to staff.
You will audit timesheets, respond to staff inquiries, handle terminations and retroactive pays, and support other payroll and benefits tasks as needed.

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources – Payroll & Benefits; this position supports operations and staff at alllevels; calculates, co-ordinates and processes employee information resulting from promotions, demotions, new hires,terminations, retirements, transfers, leaves of absences etc., ensuring compliance with Corporate guidelines, collectiveagreements and government legislation.
Post-secondary education, ideally in Accounting and/or Payroll Administration. Certified Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP - National Payroll Institute).
A minimum of two (2) year of related work experience along with the knowledge and skills related to:
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
This position is located in Band Level 2 of the Non-Union Salary Scale and has an annual salary range of $66,171- $80,689. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week).
