Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking a Payroll Analyst to support US payroll operations across the United States. You will audit timekeeping data, process payroll changes in Workday, and ensure compliance with federal/state laws while collaborating with HR partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years in US payroll processing for mid to large size companies.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of multi-state, multi-jurisdiction environment, taxes and labor for the US.
  • Analytical thinker and team player.
  • Experience with ADP Smart Compliance, Workforce and Workday.
  • Excellent organizational/communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English; interacts with stakeholders across Canada and the US.
  • Proficient in Excel including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the payroll team for US payroll cycle.
  • Gather and reconcile timekeeping data; process payroll changes in Workday.
  • Audit timekeeping data for SAPUTO pay rules and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with US Federal, State and local laws.
  • Audit/off-cycle payments like garnishments and relocation payments.
  • Audit integrations between timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Main point of contact for employee inquiries; communicate payroll processes to HR.
  • Balance year-end W2s and issue W2Cs if required.
  • Audit and process off-cycle payments; support payroll audits.
  • Create and run payroll reports in Workday; support improvements.

Overview of the role:

Saputo Inc is seeking a Payroll Analyst for an exciting opportunity within our organization. The Payroll Analyst plays a key role in supporting payroll operations across the United States. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, auditing payroll and timekeeping data, supporting employees and HR partners, and contributing to continuous process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills who is committed to delivering exceptional payroll service in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

How you will make contributions that matter:
  • Supports the payroll team for all activities involved in the US payroll cycle.
  • Responsible for gathering and reconciling timekeeping data, processing employee payroll changes in Workday, review, and audit periodic payroll reports for their designated US payroll groups.
  • Performs audits of timekeeping data to ensure adherence to Saputo pay rules and other specific federal and state compliance requirements in the US. Responsible to address the non-compliant issues and works with the Payroll Manager and plant HR to resolve.
  • Responsible in ensuring compliance with US Federal, State and local laws when processing payroll.
  • Responsible for processing ad hoc files from 3rd party vendors, such as garnishments and relocation payments.
  • Responsible for auditing union dues and issuing payment for their designated pay groups. Responsible in correcting /communicating any variances and catch-up of dues.
  • Responsible in Auditing /Reviewing integrations between timekeeping and payroll systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Main point of contact with employee inquires and assists with the delivery and communication to plant HR/payroll regarding new payroll processes.
  • Responsible in balancing year-end W2's, analyzing and issuing of W2C's if required.
  • Responsible for auditing and processing of off-cycle payments for their designated pay groups.Responsible in gathering payroll data as required for internal and external payroll audits. Responsible in ensuring that the appropriate approvals are received from the sites and performs follow-ups when required.
  • Creates and run various payroll reports in Workday for distribution to the plant HR team.
  • Assists Payroll Manager in evaluating current payroll processes and implement improvements.
  • Other projects as assigned by Payroll Manager.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel to include at a minimum Pivot table, v-lookup and some formulas.

Salary: $68,630 - $90,080

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
