The Gabriel Dumont Institute invites applications for a full-time Payroll Administrator role in Saskatoon. This position includes managing payroll functions such as processing payroll, calculating remittances, and ensuring confidentiality. Ideal candidates will have a degree in business or equivalent experience, and familiarity with the Métis community is a plus.
The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following full-time position:
Payroll Administrator
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Payroll Coordinator, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for a variety of payroll functions. This position will assist with processing employee payroll on a semi-monthly pay schedule, including calculating payroll, employee set up, completing ROE’s, producing Receiver General reports, and calculating payroll remittances to Revenue Canada; processing of board and/or committee travel claims on an as required basis; preparation of monthly remittances to the company’s benefits plan, pension plan, and union dues. This position will be responsible for the reconciliation of all payroll related contributions on a monthly/quarterly basis, ensuring deadlines are met while always maintaining the strictest of confidentiality & discretion; monitoring of the payroll email address as well as communicating and relaying information to employees and supervisors as required; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a degree in a Business related field with 1 – 3 years’ direct payroll experience, a Business Certificate or Diploma with equivalent experience will also be considered; previous experience in the use of computerized accounting/payroll systems is a necessity; the ability to multi-task, solve problems, prioritize and meet deadlines, work independently and as a member of a team; and will possess strong organizational and computer skills. A good working knowledge of the Métis community and PCP certification are considered assets.
Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package
Term: July 2025 – July 2026 subject to renewal
