Job summary

The Government of Nova Scotia's Service Nova Scotia department in Halifax is seeking a Corporate Payment Officer (Payment Production Officer) for a permanent role. The position supports payment production across cheque, electronic, foreign and recurring payments, with responsibilities to reconcile SAP data, manage the Corporate Credit Card Program and assist the provincial financial community.

Hours include a rotating evening shift.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years post secondary accounting training.
• Four years related experience in financial administration.
• Experience interpreting policies in a large, dynamic organization.
• Proficiency with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
• Strong PC, database, internet, spreadsheet and word-processing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume, team-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Process payment production (cheques, electronic, foreign, recurring).
• Handle payment replacements and data entry in accounting systems.
• Monitor and reconcile file uploads from sub-systems to SAP.
• Support SAP system testing and provide guidance to the financial community.
• Coordinate Corporate Credit Card Program including help desk support and monthly reconciliation.
• Support team members and participate in special projects.
