Job summary

Canadian Natural is seeking a Payables Accountant in Calgary, AB. The role processes supplier invoices using OpenInvoice and ensures correct GL coding in EnterpriseOne while validating taxes and supporting documentation.

You will interact with suppliers and various business areas to ensure efficient invoice processing, with opportunities to grow in a leading Canadian energy company that values integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of oil and gas accounting experience.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting.
• Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
• Data processing abilities.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency is an asset.
• Experience with EnterpriseOne (E1) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices for payment in OpenInvoice.
• Verify GL coding and supplier information in EnterpriseOne.
• Validate GST, PST, HST and withholding taxes.
• Validate invoice totals and supporting documentation.
• Handle supplier inquiries and account reconciliations.
• Monitor vendor updates (names, addresses, amalgamations).
• Validate vendor info, POs and work orders through Maximo.

The main responsibility of the Payables Accountant is to process invoices for payment in the OpenInvoice system, with reference to EnterpriseOne, including general ledger and tax coding.The successful candidate will work on a busy and rewarding team with interactions with suppliers, as well as many different business areas within CNRL, to ensure the most efficient processing of supplier invoices.

Key Accountabilities:

• Process invoices for payment in OpenInvoice
• Verify General Ledger coding and supplier information in EnterpriseOne
• Validate GST, PST, HST and withholding taxes
• Validate invoice totals and supporting documentation
• Handle supplier inquiries and account reconciliations
• Monitor vendor updates (legal name changes, address changes & amalgamations)
• Validate vendor information, purchase orders and work orders through Maximo (Asset management software solution)
• Project work as assigned

What You Bring to the Role:

• 2+ years of related oil and gas accounting experience
• Post-Secondary education in Accounting
