Job summary

Paladin Security seeks a Patient Watch professional for an on-call, full-time hospital role in Alberta. The position emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and rapid decision-making in clinical settings.

You will monitor patient safety, report incidents, use radios and computer systems, and maintain strict confidentiality while building professional relationships with hospital staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification.
• Valid Class 5 License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the patient’s overall safety and report changes to security and/or hospital staff.
• Log and report incidents and maintain a detailed log of patient interactions.
• Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for site communications.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality of private information.
• Screen visitors and patients in a professional, respectful manner.

Essential Job Functions:

• Monitor the patient’s overall safety and report any changes to security and/or hospital staff
• Ensure the safety of all stakeholders, including patients, clinical staff and visitors with de-escalation techniques
• Log and report all incidents reported by hospital staff, physicians, patients or visitors and maintain a detailed log of all patient interactions
• Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities
• Communicate in a truthful and receptive manner under all circumstances
• Must stay alert at all times
• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
• Develop thorough site knowledge, and maintain professional relationships with sites and hospital staff
• Handle private and confidential information with a high amount of discretion
• Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner
