Job summary

FYidoctors Smithers is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to provide exceptional patient service in a busy eyecare clinic. You will greet patients, handle check-in/out, and support the front desk with booking and payments.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking ability, and a collaborative, proactive team player mindset. Open Tue–Sat, full-time with bonuses at qualifying clinics.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, manage patient check-in and check-out and engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Perform pre-testing to support comprehensive eye care.
• Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts, and manage billing and payments.
• Manage eyewear pick-ups and perform minor repairs and adjustments on eyewear.
• Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.

Job description

Our FYidoctors Smithers clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as a Patient Services Specialist to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional service and support, enhancing the lives of our patients in a dynamic, and rewarding environment that values teamwork and collaboration.

This position is a full‑time role until August 13th, 2027, working 30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Tuesday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, manage patient check‑in and check‑out and engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Perform pre‑testing to support comprehensive eye care
• Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts, and manage billing and payments
• Manage eyewear pick‑ups and perform minor repairs and adjustments on eyewear
• Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous retail experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
