Job summary

FYidoctors Kootenay Optometry - Trail and FYidoctors Castlegar is seeking a patient services specialist to join our team. This full-time role (30–40 hours weekly) focuses on greeting patients, handling check-in/check-out, and delivering outstanding care in a collaborative clinic.

You bring retail experience, strong communication, and tech fluency; training and development are available, with competitive wages, bonuses where eligible, comprehensive optical benefits, and a supportive workplace

Qualifications

Previous retail experience is considered an asset.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, manage patient check-in and check-out and engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
Perform pre-testing to support comprehensive eye care
Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts, and manage billing and payments
Manage eyewear pick-ups and perform minor repairs and adjustments on eyewear
Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring a positive patient experience
Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
