Job summary

As a Patient Services Administrative Assistant, you will provide support for the assigned team in their daily activities to ensure that patients receive prompt, effective customer service.

What will you do?

  • Work at an advanced level within Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and the inter/intranet
  • Maintain excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including the general public
  • Analyze and resolve office administrative and procedural problems, interpret policies and procedures
  • Set priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines
  • Maintain accuracy and speed with data entry and word processing
  • Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and external stakeholders and work cooperatively as a member of the team with minimum supervision
  • Manages logistics for meeting and event planning, including invitations, minute taking, location set up, and teleconference support.
  • Supports preparation of agenda, presentations for meetings, minute taking and followup on action items.
  • Manages data, report preparation, collating information for specific projects and management teams.

What must you have?

  • Diploma from an Ontario Secondary School which includes general level Business and Commerce courses
  • Medical terminology certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a sound knowledge of the English language, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Other duties as assigned
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date

What would give you the edge?

  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, and office administrative procedures/concepts
  • Knowledge of services provided by Ontario Health atHome
  • Ability to speak French or another second language

What do I need to know?

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Status: Temporary Full-Time (approximately five months)Hours of work: 830am-430pm (Monday to Friday)

Posting Expiry: July 2, 2025Unionized Position - This position will be expected to be onsite at the Chatham, Windsor OR Sarnia site; this is not a remote position.
