Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in Markham is seeking a Laundry Attendant to manage the complete upkeep of the laundry department. You will run washing processes, sort and prepare linen and clothing, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure timely supply to patient floors.

The role requires a positive attitude, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Prior laundry experience in clinical or facility settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Detail-oriented and professional attitude required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Formulates washing formula for stained and soiled loads of patients’ personal items and linens.
• Sorts dirty laundry by product type and prepares for washing.
• Ensures clothes and linens are clean before inventorying.
• Communicates maintenance needs for laundry equipment as needed.
• Organizes and dispenses linen to client floors to prevent shortages.
• Folds clothing and linens neatly after washing.
• Works in a fast-paced setting with production deadlines.
