Job summary

LifeLabs Gibsons location seeks a part-time Laboratory Assistant to support specimen collection and processing across multiple PS Cs. You will greet patients, perform phlebotomy, ECGs and special test collections, and prepare samples for transport.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and collect required information from patients and explain the specimen collection process.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, 24-hour BP monitoring, and ECG tracings.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing and maintain accurate documentation.
• Complete data entry of patient demographics and requisition information.
• Maintain professional relationships and respond to inquiries.
