William Osler Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support CT and MRI patient care across three Osler sites. You will handle pre-screening, venipuncture, patient instructions and basic care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a background in health sciences with venipuncture experience and familiarity with imaging workflows. CPR is a plus, and the team emphasizes collaboration and safety.

Competenze

• Graduate of certified medical laboratory assistant program or equivalent including venipuncture.
• Health sciences background with preference to candidates with medical radiation technology experience.
• Venipuncture experience required.
• CPR certification an asset.
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, terminology and workflow including CT and MRI an asset.
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging computer systems (PACS, RIS, HIS) an asset.

The Patient Care Assistant will perform duties related to the preparation and post exam care of patients for CT and MRI studies, as well as other modalities as needed. The Patient Care Assistant role is corporate, supporting all three Osler sites.

• Ensuring patient completion of pre‑screening documents
• Intravenous insertion where indicated
• Providing instructions to patients such as waiting or changing into a gown
• Duties also include basic patient care

Job qualifications

• Graduate of certified medical laboratory assistant program or equivalent program including venipuncture
• Health sciences background with preference to candidates with medical radiation technology experience
• Medical terminology
• Venipuncture experience required
• CPR certification an asset
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, terminology and workflow including CT and MRI an asset
• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging computer systems an asset (i.e. PACS, RIS, HIS)
• Knowledge of MRI safety and radiation safety practices an asset
• Previous training on safe lifting and transferring techniques an asset
• Computer knowledge

Additional information

Hours: Currently days/eveningsincluding weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $32.11 per hour
Maximum: $37.02 per hour
