Job Summary

We are currently looking for a patent agent to join our collaborative team within the intellectual property group, where stimulating challenges await.

This position will mainly require you to:

• Draft and carry out patent applications in Canada and abroad;
• Prepare written opinions on the patentability of inventions and the validity or infringement of patents;
• Participate in strategic processes associated with innovation, intellectual property, and due diligence in the field of intellectual property relating to commercial transactions;
• Perform technical and legal analyses of patents and deal with patent litigation cases either as a lawyer, an agent, or both.

Required Qualifications

• Patent agent registered with the College of Patent Agents & Trademark Agents (CPATA) or at least four (4) years of experience in the field;
• Undergraduate degree in pure or applied sciences, such as mechanical engineering, physics, or any other related field;
• Graduate degree in science, such as a master’s degree or a PhD, would be considered an asset;
• Lawyer registered with the Barreau du Québec would also be considered an asset;
• Fluency in both French and English is an important asset.
