Job summary

Aramark: Carleton University’s dining services is seeking a Pastry Cook for the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall. The role involves preparing a broad range of high-quality baked goods in an open kitchen, under the supervision of the Chef, with emphasis on quality, consistency, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pastry preparation and baking duties under supervision.
  • Ensure consistent quality, preparation, and presentation of food.
  • Assist with recipe-based baking and food preparation.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with waste and spoilage control.
  • Assist with culinary auditing and food safety measures.
  • Assist with weekly inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas.
  • Follow Aramark policies and procedures.
  • May perform additional duties as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are hiring full-time Pastry Cooks to join our team at the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall on Carleton University campus. Our Pastry Cooks are responsible for preparing a broad range of high-quality baked goods in an open kitchen environment.

ABOUT THE JOB
  • Assist with pastry preparation and baking duties under supervision of the Chef
  • Ensure consistent quality, preparation, and presentation of food
  • Assist with recipe-based baking and food preparation
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with controlling waste and spoilage
  • Assist with culinary auditing, and food safety measures
  • Assist with weekly inventory
  • Maintain continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
  • Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
  • May perform other job duties as required
ABOUT YOU
  • Culinary education, or equivalent working experience
  • Experience in Culinary field with a focus in Pastry
