Qualifications

  • 1-2 years in heavy equipment, construction, or automotive parts/service preferred.
  • Experience in a Shipper Receiver role is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude or exposure to heavy equipment parts is an asset.

Job description

As the foremost distributor of public works equipment, Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) supplies mobile infrastructure maintenance solutions to municipalities and contractors throughout Canada and the US. Through our extensive branch network, we offer sales, rentals, leases, servicing, and support for vacuum trucks, refuse and recycling collection vehicles, street sweepers, sewer cleaners, and inspection cameras.

Parts Technician

The Parts Technician will be responsible for delivering optimal customer service and parts knowledge to Rentals, Sales, and Service Departments, as well as external customers. This position performs duties including checking inventory for product availability and providing parts and delivery dates to customers.

Position Requirements / Qualifications:
Education / Certification:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Forklift license or willingness to obtain one
Experience:
  • 1-2 years in heavy equipment, construction, or automotive parts/service preferred
  • Experience in a Shipper Receiver role preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Mechanical aptitude or exposure to heavy equipment parts is an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers
  • Manage purchase orders and receipts of goods
  • Process shipments efficiently
  • Search and identify part numbers
  • Mark materials for parts allocation
  • Conduct inventory counts and support other department staff
  • Pick and prepare parts for Technicians
  • Deliver or pick up parts locally using a company vehicle
  • Handle warranty, shop, and vendor return parts
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
