Job summary

Paramount Parts Inc. / NAPA of Fort McMurray is seeking a Parts Specialist to support heavy-duty and automotive parts customers in our Fort McMurray store.

This role focuses on delivering accurate parts advice and exceptional service, using our catalog and systems to assist customers seven days a week. You will handle orders, check pricing, process payments, and arrange pickup or delivery while upholding professionalism and strong product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of heavy-duty/auto sales or parts sales.
• Preference for prior counter role in retail.
• Related degree/certificate would be considered an asset.
• Professional memberships in automotive associations would be considered an asset.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication; proficient with MS Office.
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Sell and advise customers on heavy duty automotive parts, products and/or services.
• Assist customers by looking up parts using electronic and/or paper parts catalogue, place orders and advise when available for pick up and/or delivery either in person, email or via telephone.
• Check pricing and availability of parts.
• Process payment, provide customer with paperwork.
• Examine returns for proper parts and issue credit when warranted.
• Always maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service.

Locally owned and operated, Paramount Parts was founded in 2002 and purchased the only Napa Auto Parts store in Fort McMurray which opened in 1979 with only 3 employees in a 3,500 sq ft space.

Shortly after, Paramount Parts was awarded the Traction Heavy Duty Parts franchise and expanded the store to 37,000 sq ft with over 50 staff today!

Our store is only the second store in Canada to combine Napa Auto Parts and Traction Heavy Duty Parts under one roof. Our Fort McMurray location is now the largest single Napa store in North America based on square footage and sales.

We have many qualified parts professionals answering the phones in our store 7 days a week. Our parts professionals are knowledgeable and reliable with 300 years of combined experience.

Position Summary

Our Heavy-Duty Parts Specialists specialize in heavy duty parts for "on road" vehicles. Our Automotive Parts Specialists specialize in automotive parts.

They are both responsible for the handling of orders and requests for heavy duty/ automotive parts as well as greeting and serving customers. This role plays a key role in achieving the store's sales and customer service objectives.

Position: Parts Specialist

Location: Fort McMurray

Type: Full Time

Schedule: 10 on 4 off (possibility of rotational shifts available)

Compensation: To be negotiated (depending on experience)

We are open 7 days a week and this role requires availability for weekends

Primary Responsibilities:

• Sells and advises customers on heavy duty automotive parts, products and/or services.
• Assist customers by looking up parts using electronic and/or paper parts catalogue, place orders and advise when available for pick up and/or delivery either in person, email or via telephone.
• Check pricing and availability of parts.
• Process payment, provide customer with paperwork.
• Examine returns for proper parts and issue credit when warranted.
• Always maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service.

Qualifications:

• Experience and/or knowledge of the heavy duty / automotive sales market or heavy duty / automotive parts sales is required.
• Preference will be given to individuals with experience working in a heavy duty/automotive parts counter role in a retail setting.
• Related university/college degree/certificate/diploma would be considered an asset.
• Professional membership(s) in automotive or related industry/associations would be considered an asset.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret performance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean drivers abstract.
