Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Parts Counter Person for our Peterbilt dealership in Vars. You will assist customers in finding parts, provide pricing, and process online orders. The role includes warehouse duties to support our parts business and collaboration with the Parts Manager to ensure excellent customer outcomes.

The position requires parts/warehousing knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Previous heavy-duty truck experience is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Solid foundation of parts/warehousing knowledge and skills.
  • Journeyperson Certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience in heavy duty truck fabrication or manufacturing is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Aid customers in finding parts and provide pricing information.
  • Process online parts orders and manage shipping/receiving.
  • Unload, receive, store, and locate parts in warehouse and yard.
  • Ship parts to customers and branches; assist service technicians as needed.
  • Place inventory stock orders and make stock adjustments.
  • Document shipping, receiving, inventory, and stock information accurately.
  • Use parts/warehousing equipment and computer systems.
  • Maintain high quality customer service and support.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Parts Counter Person to join our Peterbilt dealership in Vars. The Parts Counter Person is responsible for aiding customers in finding necessary parts, offering pricing information, and processing online parts orders.

The position entails executing parts inventory duties that bolster our Parts Business by supporting warehouse operations. This role reports to the Parts Manager, working collaboratively to deliver optimal outcomes for customers.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Problem solving
  • Unloading, receiving, and storing incoming parts and other materials in the warehouse and yard
  • Locate parts and other materials, and ship to customers and other branches
  • Provide assistance to branch service technicians as required
  • Place inventory stock orders
  • Make inventory and bin adjustments
  • Accurately and completely document and report all shipping, receiving, inventory, and stock information
  • Use parts and warehousing equipment and computer systems
  • Other duties as required
What We Look For
  • Solid foundation of parts/warehousing knowledge and skills
  • Previous experience in the parts industry preferred
  • Journeyperson Certification is considered an asset
  • Experience working within the Heavy Duty Truck, fabrication and/or manufacturing industry considered an asset but not required
  • Effective Customer Service skills and able to build lasting partnerships with customers both over the phone and in person
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate peak seasons; including working shift, weekends and holidays as required by operational needs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment safely.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public.
  • Effective problem-solving skills
