Job description

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and includes services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Parts Coordinator supports the Fleet Department by coordinating parts, supplies, and services required for equipment maintenance and repair. This role is critical in assisting both field and shop technicians by ensuring they have the right parts at the right time to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will have experience in automotive or equipment parts handling, strong communication skills, and the ability to support multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

Work Location: Acheson, AB

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: Monday-Friday

JOB DUTIES

Parts Coordination and Support

  1. Coordinate parts requests from technicians in both field and shop settings.
  2. Ensure timely sourcing, receiving, and distribution of parts and shop supplies.
  3. Respond quickly to urgent part needs to reduce downtime for equipment and vehicles.
  4. Keep the parts room organized, clean, and efficient for daily use.

Field and Shop Technician Support

  1. Work closely with mechanics and technicians to understand parts needs for repairs and maintenance.
  2. Assist with troubleshooting part options or substitutions when necessary.
  3. Provide logistical support for delivering parts to remote job sites when required.

Vendor and Warranty Coordination

  1. Communicate with vendors regarding parts availability, lead times, and warranty issues.
  2. Track and process warranty claims and ensure applicable refunds or credits are received.

Reporting and Administration

  1. Assist in generating regular reports on parts usage, costs, and exceptions.
  2. Help maintain up-to-date records on parts orders and related transactions.
  3. Support ongoing process improvements in parts coordination and fleet support.

Team Collaboration

  1. Work with Fleet Managers, Technicians, and Corporate teams to align on company standards and best practices.
  2. Participate in training initiatives for parts-related procedures and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience in automotive or heavy equipment parts coordination, sales, or service support.
  2. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  3. Familiarity with shop operations and mechanical terminology.
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic web-based tools.
  5. Ability to work independently while managing multiple requests and priorities.
  6. A hands-on, team-oriented attitude with a focus on customer service and efficiency.
  7. Journeyman Parts Technician certification is preferred, but not essential.
