Performance BMW/MINI in St. Catharines is seeking a Parts Advisor to join our team. You will handle parts inquiries, process orders for service technicians, and ensure right replacements are provided for customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years customer service and/or cashier experience.
• Valid Ontario Driver's License with good driving record.
• Ability to read catalogs and technical materials; legible handwriting.
• Familiarity with automobile parts and interchangeability.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Answer parts inquiries in person, by phone or email.
• Fill service technicians' parts orders and place timely orders.
• Inspect damaged parts and determine proper replacements.
• Identify required parts from customer descriptions.
• Check returned parts for defects and process exchanges/refunds.
• Consult catalogs for stock numbers and pricing; retrieve parts from stockroom.
• Organize catalogs and price lists; maintain up-to-date records.
• Maintain inventory and sales records; project a positive attitude.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:

• Address all customers with parts inquiries, in person, on the phone and electronically.
• Complete orders for Service Technicians in the Service Department.
• Place orders in a timely fashion.
• Inspect damaged parts brought in by customers to determine the proper replacement.
• Identify the necessary part(s) required on the basis of the customer's description of issues.
• Examine returned parts for defects and confer with customers about exchanging the part or processing a refund.
• Consult catalogs for stock numbers and prices and bring parts from the stockroom.
• Recommend part(s) that are interchangeable, placing special orders for a part, or referring to the customers at another business location, if a customer needs a part that is not stocked.
• Manage the unpacking and marking of incoming parts and storing them in the stockroom according to a prearranged system.
• Receive and fill telephone orders.
• Organize catalogues and price lists to ensure it is up-to-date.
• Maintain sales and inventory records.
• Project a positive attitude for the benefit of our customers and fellow employees.
• Organize cleaning tools and equipment to maintain a neat, friendly, and tactful workstation.
• Evaluate all work performed to ensure it is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
• Ability to execute tasks and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in adherence to company safety standards at all times.
• Comply with all company policies, standards and procedures.
• Other duties as required by management.

What you need to succeed:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years customer service and/or cashier experience is required.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
• An aptitude for arithmetic, an ability to read catalogs and technical materials, and legible handwriting are all essential skills.
• Familiarity with the function of automobile parts, including ability to judge whether or not parts are interchangeable.
• Ability to navigate and utilize computers at an advanced level.
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Ability to exhibit professionalism with a positive attitude under pressure.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (50-75 lbs)

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected annual compensation): $45,000 - $55,000 per year (base salary plus monthly performance-based bonuses). This range includes a fixed base salary and eligibility for monthly bonuses tied to individual results and/or department performance, which may be influenced by business volumes. Actual bonus earnings vary based on performance.
