Job summary

Humana Community Services is seeking a part-time youth support professional to work 24-32 hours weekly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A Class G driver’s license and clear background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Child & Youth Worker (CYC) or Social Service Worker (SSW) or equivalent Human Services program.
• PSW/DSW certifications do not meet educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with children and youth in an out-of-home setting overnight.
• Collaborate with teams to implement care plans promoting education, behaviour, development, and emotional growth.
• Create a safe, supportive environment with therapeutic relationships attuned to diverse youth needs.
• De-escalate crises and apply decision-making to support participants calmly.
• Engage diverse groups and uphold equity, diversity, inclusion and justice principles.
