Job summary

The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a Yoga Instructor to join Recreation & Culture. Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, you will plan, implement and facilitate safe, motivating yoga classes for diverse participants.

This regular, non-union position offers up to 24 hours per week with shifts across early mornings and evenings, and includes access to town perks and pension benefits. The role emphasizes inclusivity and safety, with credential verification required.

Qualifications

• Yoga Instructor certification recognized by the Yoga Alliance or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience instructing yoga classes and/or leadership skills and a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of yoga sequencing, modifications, and program development.
• Knowledge of industry standards as related to yoga classes.
• Organized, enthusiastic, and approachable.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR C.
• Able to provide a clear Criminal ReferenceCheck (with Vulnerable Sector screening) that is current (dated within last 6 months), upon hire.

Job Summary

We are looking for Yoga Instructors who are passionate about the practice of yoga, and inspire others to live an active lifestyle. Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, the Yoga Instructor is accountable for planning, implementing and facilitating safe, effective and motivating Yoga classes.

What is Offered to Staff

• Compensation: We offer competitive pay that reflects the responsibilities of the position.
• Hours of Work: This is a non-union position that works up to 24 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Sunday, various shifts between 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
