Job summary

Calvary Gravenhurst invites applications for a part‑time Worship Director. The role is 12 hours per week, with a regular cadence of 3 Sundays on and 1 Sunday off each month. Remuneration is $24 per hour.

The candidate will work with established worship teams and help grow this ministry for the future. As Worship Director you will oversee worship planning with the Lead Pastor, lead Sunday services (9am and 11am), coordinate AV and worship volunteers, and ensure a seamless service experience.

Qualifications

• Character and conduct reflecting mature Christian faith.
• Ability to lead the worship team and coordinate with AV and other ministries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worship service planning with the Lead Pastor, including selecting songs and verses.
• Update weekly worship service script.
• Coordinate worship and AV participants to ensure seamless services.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Lead midweek worship team practice.
• Lead Sunday morning worship and warm‑ups at 9am and 11am.
• Oversee scheduling of worship and AV teams.
• Oversee AV equipment maintenance and upgrades.
• Prepare service media using Proclaim.
• Post sermon to the website in a timely manner.
• Manage announcement requests and support weddings and funerals.

We are seeking a part time worship director who is honoured to work with our established worship teams but also excited to grow this ministry in the future. Calvary Gravenhurst is a local church that loves to sing theologically rich songs of worship and praise boldly and passionately to God and we have faith the Lord will bring the right person to lead us in worship.

Calvary Gravenhurst is a fellowship of believers with a rich history and an exciting future. The church has stood on the corner of First St & Brock St in Gravenhurst since 1884. Primary Requirements:

Character: The character and conduct of the Worship Director will exemplify a strong Godly desire, coupled with a mature ability, to consistently embody the character a Christian is called to (Galatians 5:22-23, Colossians 3:12-15, Romans 12:1-2, 2 Peter 1:5-7) and to demonstrate the humility a Christian is called to (Proverbs 11:2, Philippians 2:1-11, Micah 6:8) when as a sinner they fall short of God’s perfect standard (Matthew 5:48).

Core Competency: The Worship Director will demonstrate a strong ability to lead the congregation in worship of God as we sing to Him and also to each other. This will be accomplished through musical giftedness, earnest prayer and the ability to work with and organize members of the worship team and the supporting ministries (AV team etc) into a cohesive team that leads the congregation into worship.

Core Responsibilities:

Oversee worship service planning in collaboration with the Lead Pastor including choosing songs for corporate worship and bible verses that will aid in our corporate worship of God

Update corporate worship service script each week

Coordinate with the various people involved in each worship service element both midweek and on Sunday morning to ensure the worship service is seamless

Attend monthly staff meetings

Lead midweek worship team practice

Lead Sunday morning worship team warm up

Lead corporate worship on Sunday morning at both of our Sunday services (9am & 11am)

Oversee organization and scheduling of worship team members

Oversee organization and scheduling of AV team members

Oversee maintenance and upgrades to AV equipment

Prepare service media for Sunday morning worship services using Proclaim

Edit and post sermon to the website in an expedient manner each week

Manage and organize announcement requests

Support special events of the church including weddings and funerals

Perform administrative tasks related to worship leading (updating CCLI, subscriptions etc)
