Job summary

Westwood Church in Prince George, BC, Canada, seeks a Worship Pastor to guide a Christ-centered worship culture and oversee weekly worship as the overseeing worship leader.

You will identify, equip, and mentor multiple worship leaders and teams, and supervise sound, lighting, and video teams supporting worship ministry.

Qualifications

• Strong vocal and instrumental ability, music theory, and music software competence.
• 2+ years planning and leading worship and leading worship teams.
• Pastoral leadership, team building, and collaborative servant leadership.
• Some post-secondary biblical/theological education preferred; credentialed or eligible with the BCMB Conference.

Lead our worship ministry, teams, and Sunday gatherings.

Position summary

The Worship Pastor guides a worship culture that is Christ-centred, Gospel-shaped, fresh and contemporary; oversees weekly worship as Westwood’s overseeing worship leader; identifies, equips and mentors multiple worship leaders and teams; and oversees the sound, lighting, and video teams that support worship ministry.

Primary responsibilities

• Leadership (35%): develop worship vision and culture; scheduling, training, care and coaching for worship/tech volunteers; AVL resource planning.
• Worship leading (50%): oversee planning and execution of all Sunday services; lead worship 3 of 5 Sundays; special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, AGM).
• Professional development & community engagement (10%).
• Other duties, administration, and worship budget oversight (5%).

Qualifications

• Strong vocal and instrumental ability, music theory, and music software competence.
• 2+ years planning and leading worship and leading worship teams.
• Pastoral leadership, team building, and collaborative servant leadership.
• Some post-secondary biblical/theological education preferred.
• Affirms the authority of Scripture, the MB Confession of Faith, and Westwood’s mission, vision, values, and bylaws; credentialed or eligible with the BCMB Conference.

Compensation & benefits

• $70,000 annually based on full-time (pro-rated if needed).
