Job summary

Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications for a part-time temporary Media Center Support position at the Instructional Media Center at our Division Office, Innisfail. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining an inviting learning environment and support the division’s learning commons philosophy.

Responsibilities include managing IMC inventory, collaborating on resource acquisition and organization, and performing physical tasks as needed while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Library Information Technology, Library Studies, or related field is an asset.
• Proficiency with technology to support library functions.
• Ability to shift priorities in a demanding environment.

Job description

Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications for a part-time temporary Media Center Support position at the Instructional Media Center at our Division Office, Innisfail. The successful candidate will have key duties that will include but are not limited to:

• Creating an inviting environment that models the learning commons philosophy.

• Serving as an advocate for the Instructional Media Center and for the learning commons concept across Chinook’s Edge School Division.

• Managing the distribution, maintenance, inventory of the Instructional Media Center.

• Collaborating with the IMC team to manage the acquisition, processing, and organization of the resources for the Instructional Media Center.

• Safely lift, move, and stack resources on a repetitive basis, while frequently using step stools to retrieve and shelve items.

Qualifications

• Possess or actively pursuing a diploma or certificate in Library Information Technology, Library Studies, or a related field (considered an asset).

• Proficiency in the use of technology to support library functions.

• Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong organization skills, time management and problem solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to shift and adapt to priorities in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
